Farnborough College of Technology
We are a general further education college in Hampshire with approximately 2000 students aged 16-19. The College has enjoyed an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ rating since 2011. We have a secondary building in nearby Aldershot, where our construction trade courses are taught.

All types of qualification are offered at the College. The majority of our students are 16-19 year olds studying a technical/vocational course that can lead directly into a career, but we also teach a small number of A Levels.

Apprenticeships are also taught at the College in collaboration with over 500 businesses. Degrees and higher education courses are taught at our University Centre Farnborough facility, which sets the College apart from local competitors. Degrees are awarded in collaboration with the prestigious University of Surrey, and approximately 450 students are studying for a higher education course with us.

A small number of adult courses are available. These include introductory courses such as maths and English, professional courses for those upskilling, and Access to Higher Education courses.

Recent developments at the College include renewed Engineering facilities, an Emerging Technologies Centre with employer zones, and improvements to quiet study and student services areas. More work is planned, including an Aerospace Research and Innovation Centre as well as new IT and Childcare teaching spaces.

The majority of our students travel from Rushmoor and Hart to study with us. We also draw students from the surrounding areas and are therefore in competition with colleges offering similar courses: Brooklands College, Guildford College, Basingstoke College of Technology, and Bracknell and Wokingham College.
